England crush Australia in CWC Semi Final 2

England absolutely crush Australia in semi final 2 at Edgbaston. Probably it was an Ashes preview at the semi final between the two sides.

Going into the clash the five time and defending champions Australia had history behind them of the most successful team in the history of world cups.
Australia has performed the best when it came down to world cups over the years.
At the start of the world cup England were considered huge favorites alongside India to win the coveted prize. England didn't play as expected in the first half of the tournament but come the big games they played fantastic cricket.

But it was a different game all together with England playing to their full potential. Australia earlier won the toss and decided to bat first in the crunch game but it was a repeat of what we saw yesterday in the Indian innings. Archer and Woakes ran through the Austrailan top order with 14-3 in 6overs, Steve Smith held one end with fighting 85 but wickets kept tumbling at the other end. Australia just managed 223 runs and it seemed like a tricky wicket to bat on, we thought it would be like an India-New Zealand game.
Until Roy-Bairstow ensured no early in rows in the initial phase of their innings and later dominated the Australian bowling attack with a 124run stand for the opening wicket(Roy(85), Bairstow(34)) which pretty much sealed the game for England.
With Finishing touches from Root and Morgan, England powered to a 8-wicket victory with almost 17 overs to spare.

As Finch said in the post match  “We were just totally outplayed today, The way they set the tone with the ball and getting to 27-3 was too hard for us to get back from. You do expect the new ball to seam first up, but they bowled really well by targetting the stumps. But plenty of positives for us in this World Cup especially given where we were last year when we came here. You want to win, but really proud of the boys to get us here. We tried to change it up as much as we could, kept looking for wicket taking options. But they played really well, we know how dynamic they are. You’ve got to beat everyone in every condition. But things didn’t go for us with the injuries, but that’s not really an excuse".

What a turnaround this has been for England after being knocked out of the 2015 WC in the group stages itself. Since then England have been playing some fearless cricket and it has payed rich dividends. England in the Finals!
England will face New Zealand in the Final at Lord's on Sunday.

Will it be three in a row for the host nation? after India(2011), Australia(2015)

Can England live upto the tag of Favorites or Can New Zealand rectify the loss from 2015 WC and write history.
Both the teams have never won a 50 over CWC and one team will emerge as the best in the world.
One thing is for sure the world cricket will have a new Champion on Sunday.
