Virat Kohli, the India captain,
was found to be guilty of a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of
Conduct. He has admitted to the offence.
Virat Kohli received one demerit point
after he made physical contact with South Africa bowler Beuran
Hendricks during the third and final T20 International in Bengaluru on
Sunday.

Virat Kohli's aggression is well known to all the cricket fans around the globe. But the on field behavior of the star batsman has found himself in a sort of bother everytime. Virat Kohli is on the verge of getting banned.
According to a release issued by
the International Cricket Council, Kohli breached Article 2.12 of
the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates
to "Inappropriate physical contact with a Player, Player Support
Personnel, Umpire, Match Referee or any other person (including a spectator)
during an International Match."
The incident took
place in the fifth over of India’s innings when Kohli made contact with bowler Beuran
Hendricks in the process of taking a run.
Kohli admitted the offence and accepted
the sanction proposed by match referee Richie Richardson of
the and as such there was no need for a formal hearing. On-field umpires Nitin
Menon and C K Nandan, third umpire Anil Chaudhary and
fourth official Chettihody Shamshuddin levelled the charge.
Level 1 breaches carry a minimum
penalty of an official reprimand, a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a
player’s match fee, and one or two demerit points.
Thus one demerit point was added to
Kohli’s disciplinary record, for whom it was the third offence.

Kohli had led India to a convincing victory in the second T20I against South
Africa at PCA Stadium Mohali after the first match was washed
out. However, Indian batting was exposed in the third T20I at Bengaluru whereSouth Africa outplayed India to level the series 1-1.

This was Virat Kohli's third offence
since the demerit point system was introduced in 2016. He received one demerit
point each during the Pretoria Test against South Africa on January 15, 2018
and against Afghanistan during the recent World Cup at Southampton .
India captain Virat
Kohli was fined 25% of his match fee for "excessive appealing"
in a tense World Cup victory over Afghanistan.
If
the 30-year-old gets one more by 15 January 2020, he faces a ban.
Players
who accrue four demerit points in a two-year period are
given a suspension. Kohli's first point came on 15 January 2018.
