The 'Archer' Factor

Only a month old in International cricket, Jofra Archer has found himself as England's Premiere fast bowler in the recently concluded World Cup.

Six weeks ago the West-Indian born had played most of the T20 leagues around the world and was waiting for a call up for the English side. 'What was West-Indies loss was England's gain'.
Considering the World Cup and less potent bowling attack England team fast tracked Jofra into to World Cup squad as the X-factor.

Jofra Archer certainly lived upto the expectations and clinched 20 wickets in the tournament. Nor did the 24-year old would've thought of bowling the Super Over of a World Cup Final so early in his career.
Raw pace, bouncers, the aggressive approach something that isn't new with West Indian fast bowlers.

Many English greats praised his performances in the tournament 'Kevin Pietersen believes that England won the Cricket World Cup because of the decision to fast-track Jofra Archer into the side'.
The ECB changed their eligibility rules to allow Barbados-born Archer to qualify to play for England just before the tournament. Surely Archer is the X-factor for England's bowling and for world cricket. The set of Fast bowlers in this generation with the likes of Mitchell Starc, Kagiso Rabada, Jasprit Bumrah, Lockie Ferguson and now Jofra Archer has encouraged teams to have aggressive bowling line ups to win matches.
Jofra Archer is now in contention for being picked up in the Ashes squad. Jofra Archer could play in the first Ashes Test next week after being declared fit to play for Sussex in the T20 Blast on Friday.

The 24-year-old World Cup final hero was put through a fitness test on his return from Barbados by England. With Test Championship now in action from 2019-2021 England would want Archer to create similar impact on test cricket as he did in the white ball.

England are set to announce their squad for the first Test this weekend, while Australia have already announced their Ashes squad on Friday. Cameron Bancroft, Matthew Wade, James Pattinson making a comeback in the Australian side.
