India vs Australia: David Warner's message to India

Mumbai: The Australian Opener had a great outing in the Australian summer and is fresh after the series winning performance against the Kiwi's. David Warner has a great record in ODIs against India in India. In five innings, the southpaw has scored 245 runs at a whopping average of 49. He has century to his name as well.

Australian opener David Warner is ready to take on India in the upcoming three-match ODI series that begins on 14th January. The aggressive opening batsman uploaded a post on Instagram after boarding the plane to India with the message, “India here we come!! It’s going to be a great 3 game series. Looking forward to seeing all our Indian fans.”

Warner will be looking get some runs under his belt in the series against the hosts. The Aussies stunned India last year as they won three matches on the trot to defeat the hosts 3-2 and win the series. That victory came right before the ICC World Cup in England. India though turned the table on the Aussies in the global tournament by registering a memorable win.

Australia scripted an unexpected comeback to win the five-match ODI series 3-2 in India 12 months ago after losing the first two games. The upcoming series starts 14 January in Mumbai.

Australian limited overs Captain Aaron Finch, looked excited for the ODI series as well:

"It just gives us confidence that our game plan in those conditions is good enough," Finch told 'cricket.com.au' ahead of the team's departure when asked about the series win in India last year.
"What can happen when you play in the sub-continent is you start to doubt your game plan because they're so dominant when they get on top. India or Pakistan or Sri Lanka. They can make you start doubting yourself.
"Knowing that our game plan is good enough and knowing that our skills are good enough to beat India in India. That gives us a lot of confidence going there," said Australia's limited overs skipper.
The second ODI will be played in Rajkot on 17 January and third in Bengaluru on 19 January. The in-form Marnus Labuschagne is set to make his ODI debut against India after earning a maiden call-up at the back of his stellar form in Tests.

Finch feels there is no reason why Labuschagne cannot carry his Test form into white-ball cricket. Labuschagne is good against spinners and that will help him in India, said Finch.
So Australia is touring India with a full strength squad this time around, which probably will lead to mouth watering contest between the two heavy giants of the Game.
