India vs West Indies | ODI and T20I squads announced for Team India

Eden Gardens, KolkataVirat Kohli, who was rested during the Bangladesh T20I series, returned to lead the side in both the formats. Besides the skipper, Mohammed Shami also featured in both the squads. Some vital changes have been made in the squads considering the World T20 next year.


While the country was waiting for the pink ball debut at the Eden Gardens, the Indian selection committee has announced the dates for the ODI series against West Indies, with Virat Kohli returning to lead the side after giving Bangladesh T20 series a miss. Kedar Jadhav finds a spot in the ODI team.

Rohit Sharma to play full series:

Rohit Sharma was expected to be rested for the ODI series after a long season, but he has been selected in the side. And why would he want to miss out after being in such peak of his powers and after having an incredible year.


No player wants to break the rhythm especially when he is going through the most wonderful patch of his career and that's what Rohit Sharma.

Though we might see Rohit Sharma being rested in one or two games as the series go by.

Shivam Dube earns maiden ODI call:

After his three-wicket performance against Bangladesh in the third T20I in Nagpur, Dube has been rightfully found a place in the series not only in T20I's but in ODI's as well. Selectors were quite impressed with Shivam's all-round ability and would want to see more out of him. With Hardik Pandya still under rehab,whose injury layoff has been a cause of concern for the Indian team after the World Cup, Shivam Dube is a like for like replacement for Hardik.

India's spin twins are back:



Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal are back in ODI as well as T20I's and will be in charge of the spin department along with Ravindra Jadeja.

While Mohammed Shami who has been in brilliant form in the longer format of the game will play all the formats and also lead the pace attack that also has the likes of Deepak Chahar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Bhuvneshwar Kumar makes a comeback after the injury scare.

Jasprit Bumrah has been under rehab and is expected to return to the cricket field in January 2020.
