MS Dhoni to serve 2 months in Paramilitary Regiment

MS Dhoni puts immediate retirement rumors to rest. After the defeat against New Zealand in the semi finals it was speculated that we have seen the last of MS Dhoni in Indian colors.

Earlier Dhoni's close friend Arun Pandey reacted on the retirement rumors by saying "Mahendra Singh Dhoni has no plans to retire, Team India desperately needs him. The team needs him more than him needing the team,”

Just in now a day before the selectors meet for West Indies tour, MS Dhoni has informed BCCI he won't be available for 2 months as he'll be joining Parachute Regiment of Territorial Army for 2 months.
The 38-year-old Dhoni is an Honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Parachute Reg.
This puts rest to the rumors of him calling it off from cricket.
Since Dhoni did not announce his retirement yet, maybe the former Indian Captain aims to make it to the ICC World T20 for his farewell. Right where his road to glory started back in 2007 World T20.

During the World Cup in England many experts criticized the approach with which Dhoni batted, perhaps his dip in form over the years and the inability of hitting the long ball at the end of the innings allowed the questions to be raised. But MS Dhoni's stats and records are phenomenal it will be crucial for Team India to groom younger players around MS Dhoni's presence. Replacing Dhoni is not the way forward. Young guns like Hardik Pandya, Rishab Pant, Ishan Kishan, Manish Pandey need the influence of Dhoni to be India's future in long run.

Clearly MS Dhoni won't be in the squad for the West Indies tour, it will be interesting to see the team selections on Sunday.
Probably first choice keeper would be Rishabh Pant, interestingly who will be the back up wicket-keeper, will it be Ishan Kishan who is already with the A side touring West Indies or will it be the likes of Sanju Samson.

It will be interesting to see the outcome of the selectors meeting in Mumbai on Sunday.
