Dominant India crush Australia in a series decider | IND v AUS

Bengaluru: A comprehensive win for team India. 286 was not a bad score from Australia, but it was a par score at Chinnaswamy, 30-40 runs less, but the manner in which India have chased it down shows their dominance. A total thrashing in the second and third games. Truly the better of the two sides.

Riding on the superb hundred from Steve Smith Australia posted a competitive total on a good Benguluru wicket. Steven Smith and Marnus Labuschagne played really well but it was India who came back superbly towards the end of the innings. The Indian spinners bowled well while Shami got a 4-fer.

After Shikhar Dhawan getting injured while fielding earlier in the Australian innings, it was less likely Dhawan would come out to bat and exactly the same happened. KL Rahul came out with Rohit Sharma to open the innings.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli starred with the bat as India chased down 287 run target against Australia in the third ODI at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru to clinch the three-match series 2-1.

Rohit Sharma's match winning hundred

India opener Rohit Sharma became the third fastest to 9,000 ODI runs during the series-decider against Australia. Rohit reached the milestone in the first over of India's chase with a double. Rohit took 217 innings to reach the landmark while his skipper Virat Kohli is the fastest to 9000 runs with 194 innings. AB de Villiers is the second fastest, having reached there in 208 innings.

Rohit Sharma also became the 2nd fastest batsman to score 29 ODI hundreds, Rohit completed the feat in 217 innings where as Virat is the fastest to achieve this in 185 innings.
Rohit Sharma also became the fastest opener in ODI cricket to reach 29 ODI hundreds in just 137 innings followed by Hashim Amla in 164 innings at second place, while India legend Sachin Tendulkar holds the third spot with 174 innings.

With Rohit Sharma's hundred and skipper Virat Kohli's 57th fifty of his ODI career. Rohit and Kohli added 137 runs for the second wicket, helping India take control of the game. Rohit got out for 119 runs while Kohli smashed 89 runs. Shreyas Iyer scored a quickfire 44 off 35 balls to help India chase down the total with 15 balls left.
